 +====== Wake on LAN ======
 +
 +Wake on LAN (WoL) is a tool which allows to remotely switch on a computer via an Ethernet network.
 +
 +To be really possible to switch on the computer it has to be connected by a cable, its network adapter has to support this feature and it has to be enabled in BIOS.
 +
 +You can find WoL in the section ''Services'' → ''Wake on LAN'' (''Network'' → ''Wake on LAN'' in older versions). In ''WoL program'' you choose one of the available programs. As noted in the manual, it's necessary to test first which program works for your device.
 +
 +If you choose ''Etherwake'' you should specify the ''Network interface to use''. In the standard Turris router configuration it is ''eth0'' or ''eth1'' accordingly to where the device is connected. Please consult the [[vlan_settings|VLAN configuration]] page in our documentation. We need to mention that the general option ''Broadcast on all interfaces'' doesn't work in our case and it's necessary to choose a specific network interface.
 +
 +The last required item is the ''Host to wake up''. If you want to wake up a device which is routinely used you can probably find it in the list. In other cases it is possible to choose ''-- custom --'' and to fill in a MAC address in the format ''11:22:33:44:55:66''.
 +
 +Then you can click at ''Wake up host'' and to wake up the desired machine.
